Morty has been involved in the seafood industry for over 40 years, starting out working in his fathers retail fish market as a young man, and progressing upward in executive positions with companies such as Gorton’s of Gloucester, Seamark, and the Shore Group of companies. He has traveled extensively around the world trading seafood and is particularly knowledgeable about the Asian shrimp industry, its packers, personnel, capabilities, and reliabilities. Morty also served as a Regional V.P. of the National Fisheries Institute and was one of the founders of the American Seafood Association. He was a principal speaker at the International Boston Seafood Show’s Shrimp Forum in 2006. Marc Nussbaum is the company’s President and responsible for the day to day operations of the company. He has been with IMS from the beginning. Marc has also traveled extensively to Asia and Latin America and is well versed on the nuances of the international shrimp game. He is well liked and respected by producers and customers alike. Matt Nussbaum, Morty’s youngest son, has been with the company for approximately 10 years. He is responsible for managing a substantial list of wholesale customers, but is also in charge of the company’s logistics operations, and information technologies. He oversees a staff of traffic and administrative people to keep track of inbound containers and to ensure prompt delivery service and most particularly in the area of contracted, program type business. Ernie Wayland, is the company’s Executive Vice President and is primarily responsible for the development of new business with foodservice and retail accounts. Ernie started in the seafood business in the early 1960’s with Ocean Garden Products where he spent a total of 16 years in various sales and management positions. His last position was Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Ernie also has held senior management positions with Meridian Products, Empress International, and Rubicon Resources before joining IMS. At one point in his career, he managed a breaded shrimp plant in Florida for New England Fish Co. He is a former President of the California Fisheries and Seafood Institute, and a regional V.P. for the National Fisheries Institute where he chaired many important committees over a period of 35 years. He also has traveled extensively around the world trading fish, but specializing in shrimp products. He has authored many articles on shrimp for industry publications, and has presented papers at numerous conventions, seafood shows, and international symposiums over the last 30 years. Todd Rushing, is the company’s Vice President of Retail Sales and is primarily responsible for the management of retail chain accounts. Todd is a 25 year veteran in the seafood industry. His retail sales and management experience includes Meridian Products, National Fish & Seafood, and Berdex Seafood. Todd’s expertise is in the development and management of VMI Programs, JIT Fulfillment, Private Label Programs and Branding. He can also provide In-store merchandising assistance, Product Technical Support and Training, and Category Management Services. Proficient in utilizing technology, he has the ability to custom make dynamic web portals for our customers that include current offers, available inventory, in-bound status, and market reports, all accessible on their desktop at a push of a button and in real time. Jeffrey Martinez-Malo, V.P. of International Procurement and Marketing for IMS, is a 30 year seafood professional, starting in 1979 with Emerald Fisheries, a family owned business. For the past 5 years, Jeff was V.P. of sales with Sigma International, a leading importer of Asian crabmeat. Jeff has considerable experience in the development and marketing of Asian pasteurized crabmeat, warm water lobster tails, and Latin American shrimp. In addition to leading the introduction and development of these products, he will also be responsible for implementing strategic sales and marketing programs for food service and retail customers. |
